AS-127. (Update/Rare IOTA) Last week we reported that operators Tutul/ S21RC,
Manjurul/S21AM, Sohel/S21S and Aminul/S21D were preparing a DXpedition in
February 2010 to St. Martin's Island located in Chittagong Region Group. The
operation will take place between February 21-25th. The group has requested the
callsign S21DX. St. Martin is the only coral island in Bangladesh (S2), and
there is also a lighthouse on the Island (WLOTA #2351) very near their camp
site. There is no electricity and no motor vehicles on the Island which makes
the air interference free. They team plans to have two stations on the air with
a few antennas like last time. To power the stations they will use 1KVA
generator and 2x 115AH batteries. QSL Manager will be EB7DX. The group is
looking for sponsors/funds. A Web page is now up and running at:
http://iota.s2dx.org
NA-191. Operators Gunter/TI7WGI, Andreas/DH8WR, Rene/DL2JRM and Jens/ DL3ALF

SOUTH AMERICAN TOUR
Ghis, ON5NT, will once again be on a South American trip through Brazil and
Uruguay in December. He informs OPDX that there will not be any activity from
Brazil as there is no reciprocal license between ON and PY (He states, "I can't
get a PY license. Operating with my CEPT license/PY does not seem to be fully
legal."). However, Ghis will be active from Uruguay between December 12-17th.
His callsign will be CX5NT. As this is holiday trip, he plans to be active
mostly during the local evening/night hours. So check 30m (10107 being his
preferred frequency) and 40m (CW in general) will be the best options to catch
him. QSL via ON5NT.

Operators Mike/KM9D and Jan/KF4TUG, aboard the "Don Henry", are reportedly
heading to Pohnpei. No other details were reported. Stay tuned!
