IPS Weekly Solar and Geophysical Report for 19th to 25th June, issued on 26th June by IPS Radio and Space Services.

Solar flare activity was very low all week.

Geomagnetic activity observed for the Australian region was quiet on 19th, 20th, 22nd and 23rd.

Southern Australian ionospheric F2 critical frequencies were near predicted to 40 per cent enhanced on 19th; near predicted to 45 per cent enhanced on 20th; near predicted to 25 per cent enhanced on 21st; near predicted on 22nd and 24th; depressed 15 per cent to near predicted on 23rd; and near predicted to 20 per cent enhanced on 25th.

Forecast for 26th June to 2nd July

Very Low solar activity is expected, with the visible solar disk spotless.

Geomagnetic activity should see quiet to unsettled conditions expected for 26th to 27th. Active periods are expected on 28th due to the anticipated arrival of a high speed coronal hole wind stream. There should be unsettled conditions for 29th and 30th, with mostly quiet conditions for 1st and 2nd July.

Frequencies should be depressed during local day expected for Northern AUS/Equatorial regions with otherwise normal HF conditions. Southern AUS/NZ regions should be near monthly normal with possible depressed periods 28th to 30th.

MAURITIUS, 3B8. Luc, I3LDP will be QRV as 3B8/home call from June 29
to July 11. Activity will be on all HF bands, including 6 meters,
using CW and SSB. QSL to home call.

FIJI, 3D2. JA1NLX will be QRV as 3D2YA from Mana Island, IOTA
OC-121, from June 29 to July 3. Activity will be on 80 to 10 meters
using CW and RTTY. QSL to home call.

SENEGAL, 6W. Devon, PD9DX is QRV as 6W/home call until July 5.
Activity is on the HF bands using SSB. QSL to home call.

MALDIVES, 8Q. Vlad, RA9LR is QRV as 8Q7LR from Hudhuranfushi
Island, IOTA AS-013, until July 2. Activity is on 40 to 10 meters
using mainly digital modes with some SSB. QSL to home call.

CROATIA, 9A. Jernej, S59KM is QRV as 9A/S59KM from Ugljan Island,
IOTA EU-170, until July 2. Activity is on 40 to 2 meters, including
60 meters, using CW and SSB. QSL to home call.

CAPE VERDE, D4. Michel, HB9BOI is QRV as D44TOI from Sal Island,
IOTA AF-086, until June 30. Activity is mainly on 20 meters using
SSB, with some activity on 17 meters SSB. QSL to home call.

ST BARTHELEMY, FJ. Operators Ruediger, DK8YY and Ingolf, DL4JS will
be QRV as TO8YY from June 29 to July 7. Activity will be on 160 to
10 meters with an emphasis placed on 160 and 80 meters. QSL via

WALES, GW. Operators Alan, G0RCI, Pete, M0USY, Harry, G7DEH, Alan,
G4VUA and Brian, M0JNC are QRV as GB0YG from Holy Island, IOTA
EU-149, until June 29. Activity is on all HF bands using CW and
SSB. QSL direct to G0RCI.

BULGARIA, LZ. Operators LZ4ZD and LZ1ZF are QRV as LZ01WFF from the
Shumensko Plateau Natural Park until June 28. Activity is on 80 to
10 meters, and possibly 6 and 2 meters. QSL via LZ1ZF.

NETHERLANDS, PA. Several operators from Limburg will be QRV using
special event call PA123OLS from June 29 to July 12 from the ''Oud
Limburgs Schuttersfeest, an annual marksmen's festival. Activity
will be on all HF bands using CW, SSB, RTTY and PSK. QSL via
bureau.

BRAZIL, PY. Orlando, PT2TJ will be QRV as PX8M from Maiau Island,
IOTA SA-041, from July 3 to 8. This includes being active from the
Sao Joao Lighthouse, ARLHS BRA-093. QSL via PT2OP.

GREECE, SV. Special event call SY2O will be QRV from June 27 to 29
during the Olympus Marathon, an annual run on Mount Olympus. QSL
direct via SV2FLQ.

DODECANESE, SV5. George, GM0IIO will be QRV as SV5/GM0IIO from
Rhodes, IOTA EU-001, from July 1 to 8. Activity will be on 20
meters using CW and SSB. QSL to home call.

MALI, TZ. Ed, W0SD and Arliss, W7XU and possibly other operators
are QRV as TZ6EI until July 5. Emphasis is on 6 meters, looking for
sporadic-E openings. They are monitoring 50103 kHz. QSL via W7XU.

ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA, V2. Jimmy, W6JKV is QRV as V29JKV from
Antigua, IOTA NA-100, until July 3. Activity is mainly on 6 meters
with some HF activity as well. QSL to home call.

MICRONESIA, V6. Yuki, JH1NBN is QRV from here while on a business
trip. He is travelling and operating from three islands. He is
currently active as V6P from Pohnpei until July 4, V6C from Chuuk
Island from July 4 to 12, V6T from Kosrae and back to Pohnpei as V6P
from July 21 to 25. He may also be active as V63AQ. Activity is on
80 to 6 meters in his spare time. QSL to home call.

IOTA CORRECTION. As reported in DX news ARLD024, Kharancy Island is
not a new IOTA.

The Ohio/Penn DX Bulletin No. 913 - extracts

3B8, MAURITIUS (AF-049)
Luc, I3LDP, will be active from here between June 29th and July 11th. The
callsign was not provided. Activity will be on the HF bands and 6 meters using
CW and SSB. His equipment will be an Icom IC-7000, a vertical for 40-10m and a
vertical dipole for 6m. Grid Loc. is LG89vt. QSL via his home callsign.
ADDED NOTE: Luc plans to look for a good location for an EME operation next year
(2010).

8Q, MALDIVES
By the time you read this, Vlad, RA9LR, should be active as 8Q7LR from
Hudhuranfushi Island, North Male Atoll (AS-013), until July 2nd. Activity will
be on 40-10 meters, mainly Digital but with some SSB. He will be use 100 watts
into a DX-88 eight band vertical. QSL via RA9LR, direct or by the Bureau.

A35, TONGA (Update)
Paul, A35RK, on Wednesday, June 17th, informed OPDX that lots is happening in
Tonga for him. He told us that "A35RK is moving to a new QTH. On December 1st,
the whole family is moving to Vava'u (OC-064)." He will be departing Vava'u on
June 27th, and between then and December 1st, Paul will be moving back and forth
between the island groups.

CT8, AZORES
Operators Jan/DL7JAN and Egon/DL2IX will be active as CT8/homecall from Faial
Island (EU-175) between August 21-31st. Activity will be on 80-6 meters using
CW, SSB and RTTY. QSL via their homecall, by the bureau or direct.

D44, CAPE VERDE
Michel, HB9BOI, is now active as D44TOI from Sal Island (AF-086) until June
30th. Activity over the past weekend as been mainly 20 meters SSB (around 14260
kHz), and some 17 meter SSB. QSL via his home callsign.

DU, PHILIPPINES
Gerard, F2JD, will stay in the Philippines for the next five months and hopes to
get his DU1/G0SHN licence extended. While there he plans to activate some IOTA
islands during his stay. QSLs direct or via the REF Bureau to F6AJA.

FT/G, GLORIOSO ISLAND
As this bulletin was being prepared, there were no new developments announced
this past week. The 2009 Glorioso FT5GA operation still seems to be on track and
scheduled for July 9-28th.

HB0, LIECHTENSTEIN
Fred/DL5YM and his XYL Tina/DL5YL will once again be in Masescha and will be
hiking here during the daytime hours between now and July 2nd. During the
nighttime hours they will be active on CW signing HB0/homecall on all bands.
They may also be active on RTTY, if they add an interface to their IC-725 and a
40m wire to their equipment.

IOTA NEWS

AS-047. Operators Mitsu/7N4AGB, Hase/JK1EBA, Shoji/JJ1JGI, JA1XEQ and
Nakayama/JA1KJW will be active as homecall/6 from Kita-Daito Island (JIIA
AS-047-001, WLOTA 0928), JA6 Okinawa Prefecture, between June 25th and July 5th.
Activity will be on 160-6 meters, but mainly on the lower bands using CW and
SSB. QSL via their home calls, direct or Bureau.

EU-049. Operators Cuagn/OK2BOB and Vilem/OK2BC will be active as SV8/homecall/p
from Lesvos Island (Lesbos, Mytilini) between 0700z, June 22nd and 0400z, July
2nd. From Grid Loc. KM39, activity will be on all bands using CW and SSB
(Primary bands are 40/30/20/17 meters). Suggested frequencies are:
CW - 1833, 3511, 7011, 7018, 10108, 10114, 10118, 14018, 14040, 18078, 18088,
21018, 24908, 24912, 28018, 28033, and 50090-50097 kHz (+/- QRM)

EU-130. Matteo, IV3YNB, will once again be active as IV3YNB/p from Grado Island
(IIA GO-001, MIA MI-039) between June 27th and July 11th. His activity will be
QRP on CW and BPSK31 on as many bands as possible, randomly during the daytime.

IC-339, CIA-53, IOCA CI-134, MIA MC-441) between June 25th and July 2nd.

SA-048. Members of the 4M5DX Group will be active as YW5P from Patos Island
sometime in July (no official dates were given). Activity will be on all bands

IS0, SARDINIA (EU-024)
Flaviano, I2MOV, informs OPDX that he will depart for Sardinia on July 20th, and
will be active for about two months as IS0/I2MOV. His QTH will be Dolianova 20km
north from Cagliari. His Grid Locator is JM49OJ. He will mainly be active on CW
using an IC706MKIIG and a vertical antenna for 7 bands (40/30/20/17/15/12/10m).
He will also be active on 6 meters, mainly in CW, using a home-made dipole. QSL

PA123, NETHERLANDS (Special Event)
Members from the Dutch R31 M/N Limburg will be active as PA123OLS from St.
Sebastianus, Neer, between June 29th and July 12th. Activity is taking place
during a (123) Dutch/Belgium historical event. The suffix "OLS" stands for "Oud
Limburgs Schuttersfeest", an annual shooting match between 160 shooting clubs
(citizen force) from the Dutch and Belgium provinces of Limburg. The team of
Neer won last year, so the event will takes place in Neer. Look for operations
on CW, SSB, RTTY and PSK with activity on all bands. QSL via PE1NCP, direct or

PH100, NETHERLANDS (Special Event)
Members of the Vereniging voor Experimenteel Radio Onderzoek (VERON - Section 54
- PI4ETL) will be active as PH100EL between now and July 12th. Activity is to
celebrate the 100th anniversary of aviation in the Netherlands by pioneer Count
Charles de Lambert. QSL via PD0PVQ. A special award is available (100 Years of

PX8/ZX8, BRAZIL (IOTA and LH Ops)

George, K4IIO/GM0IIO, will be active as SV5/GM0IIO from the Island of Rhodes
(EU-001) between July 1-8th. Activity will be on 20 meters CW/SSB using a

TO8, ST. BARTHELEMY
