Solar flare activity was very low all week.

Geomagnetic activity observed for the Australian Region was quiet to unsettled on 18th; and quiet on other days.

Southern Australian Ionospheric F2 critical frequencies were near predicted to 20 per cent enhanced on 17th and 22nd; and near predicted over the rest of the period.

Forecast for 24th to 30th April.

Solar activity should be low.

Geomagnetic activity should see quiet to unsettled conditions.

Frequencies should be near predicted monthly values.

The Ohio/Penn DX Bulletin No. 905 - excerpts

5H, TANZANIA
Operators Hermann/DL2NUD and Joachim/DL9MS are planning to be active as 5H1HP
and 5H1MS, respectively, from Zanzibar, between May 16th and June 2nd. Activity
will be on the HF bands and 6 meters, but an emphasis will be on VHF (EME/MS).
Grid squares to be activated are: KI93RU and KI94RA.

8R, GUYANA
The 6 Meter Beacon Project, Inc., is happy to announce a HF-50 MHz DXpedition
here between June 16th and July 6th. Antenna for 6 meters will be a 6M7JHV yagi
at 45 ft. on the Atlantic Ocean pointed towards EU and NA, and using a 3CPX800A7
amp. Activity will be split between two teams: 11 days will be by Chris/W3CMP
and Dave/N3DB, the other 11 days by Terry/K4RX and Ken/AC4TO. They hope to get
some decent openings to, amongst other places, Northern EU, 5B/4X and W6/W7.
They expect to have internet access most of the time. Operating frequencies and
Web site will be announced at a later date.

C6, BAHAMAS
Look for C6APR to be active again from the Crooked Island Lodge, Pittstown
Point, Crooked Island (NA-113), Bahamas. Activity will take place between July
23-27th, and during the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 25-26th) as a
Multi-Op/Mixed-Mode/High-Power/DXpedition entry. Operations before and after the
contest by C6APR will be on 80-10 meters including the 30/17/12 meter bands
using CW and SSB. Also, look for C6AXD to be on RTTY and C6AQO on 6 meters (grid
FL22). All three callsigns are good for Bird Rock Lighthouse (ARLHS BAH-005) as
well as IOTA NA-113 and Grid Locater FL22tt. All QSLs go to K3IXD.

HB0, LIECHTENSTEIN (Update)
Operators Kasimir/DL2SBY and his friend Georg/DF1SR will be active from here
between April 24th and May 4th. Activity will be on HF bands (80-10m) using CW,
SSB and RTTY. Kasimir informed OPDX that he has bought Spiderbeam for
10/12/15/17/20m which will improve his signal. Other equipment includes a
TS2000, FT900AT, Ameritron AL811, HF9V vertical and a monoband vertical for
30/40m. Activity will also take place on 13cm and 23cm using EME. Equipment will
be a FT726R, Dish 3, 7m, and 2 amplifier for both bands. Kasmir and Georg will
use two separate callsigns for this operation. For the HF bands, they will use
HB0/DL2SBY and for the EME activity they will sign HB0/DF1SR. QSL via DL2SBY, by
the Bureau or direct.

IOTA NEWS

AF-019. Operators Vincenzo/IW9EJP, Filippo/IW9FRB, Giovanna/IW9GVP (YL),
Ferdinando/IW9HSK, Ezio/IT9OJW, Sebastiano/IT9ZIR and Dario/ IT9ZZO will be
active as IG9/homecalls from Linosa Island (IIA AG-003, MIA MI-128) between
April 24-26th. They plan to operate on SSB, PSK and RTTY on the HF bands, 80-10

AF-065. (Update) By the time you read this, 8 operators should be active as
5C2J/p (possibly other callsigns) from Mogador Island until April 26th. For

AS-077. (Special Event) Look for 8J6SL to be active from the Kumamoto Museum
between May 1st and October 31st, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Hisatsu
(Railroad) Line (Steam Locomotive) on the Island of Honshu (JIIA AS-077-001).
Activity will be on all bands and modes. Possibly 5 stations will be on the air.
QSL via the JARL Bureau.

EU-017. (Update) Members of the Noantri DX & Contest Team will be active as ID9N
from Vulcano Island (Eolian Group) (IIA ME-018, MIA MI-122, WLOTA 1001), April
25-30th. Look for activity on the HF bands, CW, SSB and the Digital modes. They
will have two high power stations from this dangerous outpost. During operations
they will have a 6m beacon active from grid square JM78lj (ID9N/B 50.006 MHz).

EU-123. Operators Colin/G3VCQ, Sharon/M3VCQ, Andy/M0GAV, Joanne/2E0JOX and
Tim/2E0TJX will be active as MM3M from Isle of Arran, Scotland, during the RSGB
IOTA Contest (July 25-26th). QSL via G3VCQ. They will possibly be active as
GS3RCM/p before and after contest. QSL OK via RSGB Bureau or direct.

EU-123. Operators Tom/MM0BHX, Gordon/MM0GPZ, Phil/GM0LIR, Iain/GM0OQV and
John/GM0NBM will be active as GM0B from the Isle of Bute, Scotland, during the
RSGB IOTA Contest (July 25-26th). QSL via MM0BHX.

EU-189. (Update) A Belgian team of five operators will attempt a landing on
Rockall Island between April 30th and May 1st. They will be on the air with two
stations using the callsign MM0RAI/p for about 48 hours. A report from the
"Maciverblog" indicates that they are "hoping to achieve a world first by
shooting a video on the rock, more than 240 miles west of mainland Scotland, and
streaming it live on the internet on each of the three days they plan to spend
there.

SA-021. Members of the Radio Club Grupo DX Bahia Blanca will be active as L21D
from Ariadna Island, located 70km south of Ingeniero White Harbour, in the
natural reserve of Bahia Blanca, May 1-3rd. Activity will be on 80-10 meters
using CW, SSB and PSK. QSL as per operator's instructions.

S2, BANGLADESH
By the time you read this Ramon, DU1UGZ, is expected to be active as S21UGZ from
Dhaka City until June 20th, depending on his work schedule. He will be using a
low band dipole at first, so his emphasis will be on 80/40 meters SSB and RTTY.
From May through June, he will be using a beam for 10, 12, 15, 17 and 20 meters.
He hopes to have a linear in use starting in May as well. QSL via DU1UGZ.

YW0, AVES ISLAND
The 4M5DX Group, which was expecting to activate YW0A from Aves Island in March,
is still waiting for a scheduled day by the Venezuelan Navy for transportation.

ZS8, MARION ISLAND
This is per the ZS8T Web page : "ZS8T is now QRT. He leaves the island soon and
is expected back in ZS mainland in the middle of May. QSLs will be uploaded to
LoTW. Additionally, all QSLs which are sent to the manager will be answered. Any
questions regarding his operation from Marion Island should now be directed only
to ZS6GCM.
