Solar flare activity was very low all week.

Geomagnetic activity observed for the Australian Region quiet to unsettled 5th to 7th, and quiet thereafter.

Southern Australian Ionospheric F2 critical frequencies were near predicted on 5th, and 8th to 10th; near predicted to 20 per cent enhanced on 6th; and near predicted to 15 per cent enhanced on 7th and 11th.

Forecast for 12th to 18th September

Solar activity should be low.

Geomagnetic activity should be active on 14th and quiet to unsettled on other days.

Frequencies should be briefly depressed after local dawn on 14th, and near predicted monthly values on other days.

The Ohio/Penn DX Bulletin No. 874 - excerpts

A3, TONGA
Paul, A35RK, informs OPDX that he will try to be active as much as possible
until he takes his antennas down around October 20th before heading to stateside
at the end of that month. He will return to Tonga during the first week of
December. However, he states that he will probably not be back on the air until
Christmas, weather permitting. He also mentions that Tonga is having some very
unusual weather events lately, and these events are effecting a broad area of
the South Pacific. Tonga is also enduring gale force winds at the moment, all
due to an enormous (1040mb) high pressure system NE of New Zealand.

CN, MOROCCO
Operators IK2QEI, IK1SPR, IK1RQT, IK1HXN, IV3ZXQ and CN8WW will be active as
CN3A during the CQ WW DX RTTY Contest (September 27-28th) as a Multi-Single
entry. QSL via LoTW or via I2WIJ.

D2, ANGOLA
. Father Gabriele, D2EB, is back in Angola after five years. Activity will be on
the HF bands and 6 meters using CW and SSB. He was active this past week on 20
meters (14052 and 14222 kHz) after 2030z. QSL via IZ3ETU direct only or LoTW.

EA6, BALEARIC ISLANDS (EU-004)
Adrian, AA5UK, will be active as EA6/AA5UK from Ibiza (JM09tb), October 15-29th.
Activity will be holiday style on 160-10 meters using mostly SSB, RTTY, PSK31,
SSTV, JT65A and WSPR. Look for satellite activity on AO51. He will also be
active during CQ WW DX SSB Contest (October 25-26th). QSL via his home callsign,
by the bureau, LoTW or eQSL.

IOTA NEWS

EU-007. Operators Dave/EI4BZ, Jeremy/EI5GM, Dave/EI9FBB and Mark/G4AXX will be

EU-049. Members of a SV-DX-Group will be active as SY8L from Limnos Island
(LH-1740) in Northern Aaegaeis until September 15th. Activity will be on 160-6

JT, MONGOLIA
Andrei, UA3ABR, will be active as JT1CA between September 26th and October 2nd.
QSL via his home callsign.

JW, SVALBARD
Tom, LA4LN, will be active from Spitsbergen Island (EU-026, WLOTA LH-0124),
September 12-18th. He will operate as JW4LN on 160 meters through 70 cm, mostly
on CW with some SSB, digital modes and possibly the satellites. He will also
sign JW1V on 60 meters. Tom will be using an IC-7000, with various wires, and a
beam antenna for 20/15/10 meters and possibly 6 meters and for the satellites.

S79, SEYCHELLES
Tom, DJ6TF, will be active as S79TF while on holiday from La Digue Island
(AF-024), October 2-14th. Activity will be mainly on 30 meters and RTTY.
However, look for him on other modes and bands, especially on the first
kilocycles of the bands. Tom reportedly will be using a FT-890 and a vertical
antenna.

SPECIAL EVENT
The Anaheim Police ARC will operate special event station K6P in remembrance of
"POW-MIA Recognition Day", September 18-21st. Suggested operating frequencies
are: SSB - 21350, 18150, 14253, 7250 kHz, and PSK-31 and RTTY on the appropriate
frequencies. Receive a pictured QSL card via KM6HB: Mark McMullen, P.O.Box

VK9, WILLIS ISLAND
Chris, DL1MGB/VK9DWX, sent out the following press release:
"Young DXpeditioners On Willis"
"The crew of VK9DWX wants to invite two young hams who have a passion for Ham
Radio, DXing and contesting to take part in the DXpedition to Willis Island in
October this year. One young ham from 6th October till 19th October and the
other one from 15th October till 28th October.
You can reside in any country in the world, hold a valid amateur radio license
in your country, have some experience in working pile-ups, and are between 18
and 29.
For qualification you have to send an email to contact@vk9dwx.de which must
include an essay of 500 words minimum (in English) describing how you got
started in ham radio, who your Elmer was and why you should be selected for
this DXpedition opportunity. Please also include your full name, callsign and
